Obituary for Ruth Ann Surber

Ruth Ann Surber died on October 1, 2018 in Kenmore. WA. She was born to Glenn and Rena Brown in Des Moines, Iowa on August 1, 1924. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ruth enjoyed crochet, sewing, quilting, and gardening. Ruth served on the board and was a lifetime member of the Puget Sound Dahlia Club. She also served on the board of the Hilltoppers Garden Club. Ruth will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by daughters Karen Padilla (Mac), Linda Crosby (Dave); sons Mike Surber (Kindra), and Todd Surber (Mary), sister Mary Lou Johnston; grandchildren Naomi, Jolene, Nathan, Elijah, Jacob, Nick and Austin; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert E. Surber and sister Marjorie Cox-Bahr.
Funeral mass is on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 12600 84th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA, with reception to follow. There will be a graveside service at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline, WA following the reception.
Ruth’s family would like to thank all who helped her with her final years, including Shari’s LakeHaven Adult Family Home and St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
In remembrance, donations may be made in Ruth’s name to Evergreen Hospice Care, 12822 124th Lane, Kirkland, WA 98034.
