    Rodney Cottingham passed away on July 21, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on March 10, 1926 in Oak Park, Illinois.  He also resided in Helena, Montana, and Portland, Oregon before moving to Seattle in 1937.  He graduated from Ballard High School in 1944 and then served in the Army Air Corps. When World War II ended Rod returned home and met and married Dolores Wallace on July 20, 1947.
    Rod graduated from Seattle University in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career in commercial construction and worked in Construction Management for several firms, including Cawdrey & Vemo, Aldrich & Hedman, and Aldrich & Associates. Rod retired in 1994 after several years in Facilities Management at the Boeing Company.
