Dorothy Maxine Jaeger peacefully passed away July 11 in her home, surrounded by family. Maxine was born August 20, 1914 in Lake Andes, S.D., to Earl and Jesse Miller, and grew up on their farm with her siblings Marian and Wes. After Business College and working in N.Y., Maxine married Peter Jaeger of Sioux Falls, SD, in January 1942. Pete, Maxine and their family moved frequently, living in various areas of WA, ID, SD and CA, before establishing their Seattle home in 1965. In 1980 Maxine retired from the post office after several years of service. Maxine loved gardening, reading, crosswords and bridge and was devoted to her church and family. She is survived by daughter Jerri Mitchell of Shoreline and sons William Jaeger (and wife Bonnie), of Phoenix, and Joseph Jaeger (and wife Sally), of Beaverton. Also surviving Maxine are her 5 grandchildren: Bobi Akers of Anchorage and her children Jamie and Mike Akers; Dawn (and husband Glenn) Bailey of Anchorage and their children Jessica, Kyle and Casey Bailey; Jeff (and wife Jamiee) Mitchell of Everett and their children Jeffrey and Jessica Mitchell; Sean (and wife Juli) Jaeger of Phoenix and their children Wyatt and Waylon Jaeger; and Keith Jaeger of Beaverton. A viewing will be held July 19 at Beck’s Funeral Home. A mass and celebration of her long life is scheduled July 20th at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest next...
