James "Jim" W. Bride, II
Businessman and Civic Leader
It is with much sadness that the family announces the passing of our patriarch, father and mentor, Jim Bride of natural causes in the tranquility of his home Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Although Jim had been courageously battling a variety of serious ailments over the last several years, his sudden passing has come as a shock to the family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linnie M. Bride; eight children including, James W. Bride III, Shellie (French) Scott Bride, Shannon (Darling) Kelly Bride, Sandra (Pelan) Kyle Bride and Lisa Bride; 29 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Bride, of Mukilteo, WA, and Michael Bride, of Blaine, WA.
Jim served the construction and logging industries as an equipment dealer, distributor and manufacturer for over 50 years and his name is legendary within the industry.
Active in Edmonds and Lynnwood city politics in the 1970's and 80's, Bride navigated intercity and interagency hurdles to publish his vision to fruition of what became the Meadowdale Sports Fields.
