Polly Milton was born September 22, 1916 in Chehalis, Washington and died February 13, 2010 in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Polly, a positive “can do” woman, brought inspiration, goodwill, deep kindness and empathy to the many people she met during her long, happy and productive life.
Her life was characterized by her entrepreneurial adventuresome spirit. A highlight of her week was walking the Shoreline track with her husband and many friends.
During WWII, she was a Red Cross volunteer and a smiling waitress at the landmark Twin Teepee Restaurant. After the war, she opened one of the first Laundromats in the Seattle area.
In the 1970’s, she started PM Enterprises to design and produce quilted uniforms for auto racers, hydroplane racers and costumes for entertainers. Her quilts and patchwork animals and clothing were featured at Crazy Quilt in Ghirardelli...
