    Shared Memories

Maxine Marie Marshall, who was born to George and Hilda (Scharbow) Hayertz on November 13, 1925 in Birch Hills Saskatchewan, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2017 in Seattle, Washington after a brief stay at Crista Nursing.

Her parents, from the Alice, North Dakota area, homesteaded in Fusiller, Saskatchewan before moving to Birch Hills, Medimont, Idaho, Florence, Oregon, Vernonia, Oregon, and finally Hillsboro, Oregon where she graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1944.

She married her husband, John A. Marshall of Portland, Oregon in June of 1947. She became a United States citizen in January of 1949. After briefly living in Beverton, Oregon, the family of four moved to Seattle, Washington in 1956 and settled in Richmond Beach, Washington where she lived for the next sixty years. She was an early member of Calvin Presbyterian Church and was active in its social circles. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting, helping those in need, enjoying free time near a beach, and raising her kids, grandkids, and great grandson.

Maxine is survived by her older sister Georgine, her sons Greg and Roger, daughter-in-law Dolores, daughter Kathleen, granddaughters Ana, Elizabeth, and Kristi, grandson...
