Harry William Hagen Jr of Seattle, WA better known as Bill, died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday December 2 at the age of 83. He was born on September 2, 1934 in Anacortes, WA.

Bill was an energetic and wonderful man that was deeply loved and will always be cherished. Bill Hagen grew up and lived most of his life in Seattle, WA. His parents Harry William Hagen Sr and Maxine Hagen taught him to love the outdoors and the mountains. He entered the military at an early age and served in the Marine Corps in Korea before transitioning to the Air Force to become a pilot. Bill completed a tour in Vietnam where he flew helicopters and was responsible for saving multiple lives. He then returned home to marry his sweetheart Mary Hamm in June of 1969.

Bill and Mary eventually settled in Lake Forest Park, WA with their two daughters. Bill continued his call to help others by spending many years with the ski patrol and serving his church St. Marks as a lay minister. He had many hobbies and past times and anyone who knew him knew of his love for trains and that he took a book with him everywhere, occasionally making his girls read aloud from the ‘roadside geology’ while he drove. He loved to go sailing, camping, hiking, and traveling throughout his life. Bill also continued his military service in the reserves until his retirement as a major in the air force.

Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years Mary Hagen (Hamm), daughters Anne Wharton (Devon) and...
