    Shared Memories

Alberta, beloved sister, aunt and friend passed peacefully away on the morning of Dec 4th.  She is greatly loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Alberta was the first of ten children born to Lewis Emerson and Inez Marie Loveless Duke.  She graduated from Tolt High School in Carnation, Washington.  In the early 70s she began working at Metropolitan Federal Savings and Loan Association of Seattle.  She was assistant head teller there when Sonja Knutson joined the firm.   Alberta and Sonja worked together for many years and became lifetime friends.  As a long-time resident of Seattle, Alberta roomed for many years with Lois Vallance in various residences.  Alberta also treasured her lifetime friendship with Lois.

Alberta is known for her generosity and love for others, and her outgoing and gregarious personality.  She made friends wherever she went and had a great, and at times astonishing sense of humor.  Alberta...
