Chester Alfred Dahl passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. Chet had a very rich and fulfilling 96 years.

He was born March 6, 1921, to Bergit and Jorgan Dahl in Hoquiam Washington. Chet had two brothers, George and Ben Dahl who preceded him in death as well as a younger sister, Audrey Caraker who still resides in Edmonds, Washington. Chet graduated from Mount Baker High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He and Barbara Lindquist met while he was serving in the Army at the USO Club in Bellingham, Washington. They were married for over 70 years and together raised six children: David, Steven (deceased), Debbie, Jeffrey, Richard and James. Chet was an incredibly talented person whose passions in life went from art, to woodworking and general construction just to list a few. He built their family’s first boat from the hull up. When the boat was completed it served as their family vacation place where many a summer was enjoyed in the San Juan Islands with his two brothers and their families.
