Bill was born November 11, 1923 in La Junta, Colorado and passed away on March 16, 2017.

He was the eldest of four children born to Christine (Huls) and Leo Franklin LeFevre.  The family moved to Jamestown, North Dakota in October, 1929.  He attended grades one through twelve at St. Johns Academy in Jamestown, where Bill was valedictorian of the class of 1941.

Bill was a student at North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo when Pearl Harbor was attacked.  He enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserve in 1942, and was called to active duty in March of 1943.  He served with the 99th Infantry Division, proud to carry a 20 pound Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) and was wounded at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge.  When he rejoined his company only eight of the original 220 remained.  He was awarded Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. ...
