Grace has been a long time resident of Edmonds and saw many changes in her 100 years. She worked for the state department and then moved to Seattle Metro where she retired at age 70. She enjoyed working with numbers and was a natural in her positions. Grace never owned a car so she was frequently seen running for the bus to get to work in downtown Seattle.
Grace accepted a job overseas during WWII and volunteered during her spare time. Being stationed in the Orient increased her love of travel and she continued to travel, visiting much of the United States and Europe.
Her extracurricular activities included tennis, badminton, hiking and skiing the bunny slopes and joining the weekday walkers. She was also an avid Washington Huskie fan and followed them to the Rose Bowl several times.
