    E. Milton Scott, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, teacher and friend, passed away in Edmonds Washington on Feb. 8th, 2017, just one day after his 89th Birthday. Milt was born in 1928 in Pine Bluff Arkansas. After graduating from Pine Bluff High School, he joined the US Army Air Corps and served as an airplane mechanic from 1946 to 1949. He was honorably discharged and then attended Arkansas State Teachers College on the GI Bill, where he met Martha Reid. They graduated and were married in 1953, and began their careers as teachers. Two years later, they relocated to Edmonds. Martha and Milt together traveled through Europe, Russia, Hong Kong, China, Columbia, the Panama Canal, and many other parts of the world. When they weren't traveling, Milt taught Drama at Lake Washington High School, and produced many successful plays. While he was at Lake Washington, Milt earned his Master’s Degree in drama at the University of Washington, and went on to teach drama and speech at Edmonds Community College for 25 years. He was an author and poet, publishing a college-level textbook on Listening and later, after retiring, three volumes of original poetry. Milt was an avid tennis player, winning several tournament trophies and also loved to play golf.
