Bob was born and raised in Shanghai, China where he was a prisoner of war along with his father and brother during WWII. After the war they, along with his mother, were brought to the States by a hospital ship.
They lived in NY for many years where Bob attended Columbia University. He graduated from Seattle University with a BS in both Electrical Engineering and General Science. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1952.
Bob moved to the Seattle area after landing a job with Boeing. He also worked at the jet Propulsion Lab in California, where he was involved on the Lunar Orbiter Project. He retired in 1989 from Seattle City Light where he had worked as an Electrical Engineer for over 20 years.
Bob spent his retirement (and many years before that) involved in various political causes and campaigns, running unsuccessful bids for City Council and Mayor. He remained active right up until his death.
