James Kevan Guy, age 52, devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from a heart attack. He was born on June 14, 1960, in Washington, D.C. He moved his family to Snohomish, WA, in January of 2007 to be closer to extended family.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Teresa Ann Guy (nee Sollars); three incredible children, Cameron, Taylor, and Colin; his parents, Bernie and Donna Guy; two brothers, Bernie and Chris; and his sister, Janine Garrison.
Kevan graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. Following graduation he took a job with General Dynamics in San Diego, CA, where he met his wife and started their family. In 1996 their careers took them to Mesa, AZ, where Kevan and Teresa continued to grow in their faith, size of their family and love for each other. Kevan’s many passions in life included inventing things (he held over 18 patents), athletics (a lifelong soccer player), coaching his children in sports as well as life’s lessons, making his wife laugh and developing his relationship with Our Lord. He had a very kind heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
For those considering a donation in lieu of flowers you may wish to contribute to The Children of J. Kevan Guy Scholarship Fund through Wells Fargo Bank, c/o Diana Zottman at dzottman@kellerrohrback.com.
