Beth Louese Cooper passed away January 30, 2013.  She was a devoted mother to two daughters, Lynne C. Diercks (Bellevue) and Susan A. Stewart (Lake Serene) and two grandsons, Ryan and Jonathan Stewart.  Other family survivors are Brother Robert D. Hayes (Lake Serene) and sister-in-law Pearl C. Miles (Sarasota, Fl).  All but three of Beth’s 63 year-marriage to Thomas “Tom” Cooper were spent at Lake Serene Homes where family activities flourished. Good schools, a fine church, (and in the early days) a great community club, together with fine neighbors, ensured that living was good! Beth, as a stay-at-home mom, was a very active partner in these fine community activities, and leader in many. She fully supported family members as they pursued education and follow-up careers, and was chief encourager along the way.

Beth was born in Seattle and attended Ballard’s Whittier Elem, James Monroe Jr.H.S. and Ballard H.S. She attended Seattle Pacific College, where she met and married Tom following WWII. In 1947 she joined United Air Lines as a stewardess. She was not a “pioneer” but, she was early in their stewardess program. Flying in DC-3 aircraft, however, does date her work. Beth followed her flying days at the Ballard Federal Bank. She shared the pride associated with the current successes of this fine bank.

In lieu of flowers, a favorite charity might be considered. Beth was comfortable providing family support to the EUMC Food Bank, the Salvation Army and Housing Hope.
