Walter “Glenn” Enstrom, age 83, passed away in Everett on August 4, 2012 after a long illness. He was born in Butte, Montana on January 30, 1929 and later moved to Tacoma, WA. He graduated from WSU with honors, and a degree in electrical engineering. He then joined the U.S. Army and served at White Sands Proving Grounds, New Mexico in the Missile Defense Program.
After being discharged, he moved to Schenectady, NY where he was hired by General Electric Co. and also where he met his wife, Evelyn. In 1960 he was transferred out west and he and Evelyn settled in Edmonds, WA. He worked for G.E. for approximately 35 years as an electrical sales engineer.
Glenn loved the outdoors, and built a cabin along with his son, Glenn J in Eastern, WA. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, golf, and travel, especially to his daughter, Jill’s baton twirling competitions and pageants.
He impressed everyone by his prodigious intellect and timely sense of humor. He was capable and always ready to help. Glenn will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn; son Glenn Jeffrey, daughter Jill; his sister Rose Peters and brother Alan Enstrom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 11am to 5pm on Thurs., Aug. 9 at Beck’s Funeral Home, 405-5th Ave. S, Edmonds. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 10 at 1pm at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 8517-7th...
