Died July 14, 2012 in Lake Forest Park. He was born on Nov. 26, 1937 in Perryville, MO. Joe grew up in St. Louis, moving to the Seattle area in the early 60’s and retired from the Seattle Times in 1997. He loved working on cars, especially Studebakers’. He also loved good wine and spending time with his family.

Joe is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughters Karen Townsend and Denise (Matt) Hall; his son, Mark; and grandchildren, Mason and Julia. He is also survived by his two brothers, a sister and a large extended family.
