Passed away on July 1, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born on Oct. 11, 1923 in Earling, Iowa to John and Odelia Gaul. Colette is survived by her daughters, Billie Butterfield and Bunnee Butterfield; son-in-law, Robert Sotak; her grandchildren, Elisabeth and Nicholas Sotak; and five surviving brother and sisters in Iowa.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Foss Foundation, 13023 Greenwood Ave. N, Seattle, WA 98133; or to Woodland Park Zoo, 601 N 59th Street, Seattle, WA 98103.
