Robert John Nys was born May 1, 1928 in Duluth, MN. He passed away peacefully at 84, surrounded by his loving family on June 19, 2012 in Stanwood, WA.
Robert was a WWII veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He struggled with a broken heart after the passing of his beloved wife, Theresa Marie Nys two years ago. He and Theresa retired at Lake Goodwin in Stanwood, WA, where he was a parishioner at Saint Cecilia’s Parish.
His Catholic faith was his foundation and comfort through his entire life. Robert lived for his children and grandchildren. He taught them about honesty, courage, and forgiveness. He was a man with a huge heart and helped many families in need. Robert will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
He has seven children and 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; daughter, Margie Ann Nys and grandson, Andrew Steven Nys.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Seattle Cancer Institute.
