Peter Alan Nordeen of Seattle, Washington, died Monday, June 10, 2012. Pete was born in Rexburg, Idaho on June 9, 1939 to Harold and Marjorie Nordeen and grew up in Utah.
Pete attended Washington State University during which time he also worked for the US Forest Service. After graduating he served in the US Army Signal Corps before embarking on a career as a technician with IBM.
He was a lifetime ham radio enthusiast with a call sign of W7ZPK. Radio was a passion in his life and he was always willing to share his knowledge or help anyone. He loved the outdoors, never failing to comment on every mountain peak or elevation. He will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle soul who loved life.
Pete is survived by his loving wife Blanche “Petie” Nordeen; his daughter Lisa (Noel) Kalthoff their daughter Chandler; step-children: Livingston, Lisa (John) and Jeff (Natalia and their son Steffen); his brother Ronald Nordeen (Ginna); sister, Nancy (Bob) Cunningham and their daughters, Robin, Cara and Kristen; nephews Chris Nordeen and John (Lisa) Nordeen, nieces Veronica Nordeen and Joanne Phillips; and many extended family and friends.
