    Shared Memories

Jack B. Sorge passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Golden Leaf Adult Family Home, where he spent the final weeks of his life, reunited with Virginia, his wife of 60 years.

Jack was born June 7, 1932 in Eola, Texas, to Benjamin Garner and Willie Mae Sorge. He had an older brother, Joe. His Texan roots were very important to him. At age 18, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served for 4 years as an Electrician's Mate, 2nd Class, stationed in Seattle.

In 1952, he married Virginia Louise Kuenzli, and together they raised their three children; Jackie, Dave and Julie.

Jack worked for The Seattle PI/Times from 1955 until his retirement in 1992. He was owner and operator of Alpha Mailing Service from 1979-1989.

Jack was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church from 1965 until 1994, serving as an Elder there. In 1994, he and Virginia moved to Mill Creek, where they joined North Creek Presbyterian Church. There, he cherished his close relationships, especially with the members of their Covenant Group.

Jack enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and pool. He derived great pleasure and satisfaction in serving his friends, whether it was providing transportation and company to a doctor's appointment, or playing cribbage with a housebound friend.

Jack loved his six Grandchildren: Katie, Abbie, Jared, Cassy, Marie, and Scott. He and Virginia thoroughly enjoyed attending their sporting events and various performances. Vacation times together...

In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed to Providence Hospice, North Creek Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, or the charity of your choice.
