Jean P. Morris died peacefully in her sleep at home on May 7, 2012. Jean was born on June 14, 1919 at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario and various locations in New York and New Jersey where her father was Vice President of American Fork and Hoe Company. Jean attended Pratt Institute, in NYC, where she began studies in 1937-1938 and then transferred to Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics in 1941. She then entered the Graduate School of Western Reserve University to continue her studies, receiving a Master of Science in nutrition in 1942. At Western Reserve, in 1939, she met and became close friends with the love of her life, Lucien Morris, whom she married June 27, 1942. They remained happily married, best friends and helpmates for more than 69 years.
Jean had a long and satisfying life, remaining active in the field of nutrition, the Presbyterian Church and supporting Lucien, as he travelled the world lecturing and teaching Anesthesiology. She will be missed by her extended family and friends worldwide.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Lucien, son James Lucien Morris, grandson Ian Colby Morris, and her sister Elaine Pinder Duncan. She is survived by her sister Peg Anderson (Jack), son Robert (Debora), daughter Sara Jean Morris Hoffman (Bill), son Donald (Jana), daughter Laura Morris Bean (Doug), son Mark Chang (Debbie), nieces, nephews and fifteen...
